The Appeal
The C209 CLK has to be one of the most elegant Mercedes-Benz coupes of the modern era. A sleek, pillarless design combines with a host of engine and trim options to make these modern classics great daily drivers or road trip candidates.
This is arguably the one to have. It is a facelift model but with the earlier M113 5litre V8, a motor that is both durable and makes the car eligible for lower road tax than later 5litre models. These updated cars got sharpened aesthetics, an upgraded COMAND system and, most importantly, the 7G-TRONIC gearbox to replace the earlier 5G-TRONIC model. Finished in rare Cubanite Silver with a sumptuous black leather interior, it is very well equipped and in great condition.
The four registered keepers - the first was a member of the House of Lords - have kept it properly maintained. Recent work includes a service and replacement front discs and pads. A long, advisory-free MOT to June 2025 underlines the condition.
