The Appeal
Quintessential with the great British countryside, the Defender was the last 'true' Land Rover to many purists - and when you look upon its simple, unfussy mechanics, imposing lines and remarkable endurance, it's hard to disagree. The Defender is, put simply, an icon - a car that stands tall amongst much of Solihull's output - and may well outlast every modern that's come after.
This Land Rover Defender 90 2.5Tdi carries the much-respected 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine. It's been well-maintained by its previous owners, with plenty of service history documented by Bourton Land Rover. Despite its age, it presents well with a solid bulkhead and sound underside, something that's becoming increasingly rare with these rural workhorses.
