The Appeal

We’ll leave it to Motor Cycle News to explain how good KTM’s 640 Adventure-R is when the tarmac runs out and the mud begins: “it’s untouchable for handling, presence and rugged toughness.”
If your road ahead looks more muddy than made, then this bike is your faithful companion. The 640 was the revised version of KTM’s 620 Adventure with more power but the same off-road capabilities. Later bikes like this one got front disc brakes and, from 2005 - as here - a much-improved and more reliable engine.
Finished in the stand-out orange applied to post-2004 factory bikes, this low-mileage 640 Adventure-R is in superb condition. It is in very good condition and has been well maintained throughout its life and benefits from a recent checkover by specialist SD Bikes less than 200 miles ago in May 2024. A long MOT to May 2025 with no advisories underlines the condition.
The current keeper’s plans have changed so it is now ready for a new enthusiast. The panniers are usefully included.

We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
