The Appeal

With a design that took more than a couple of cues from the E-Type, and the first 8-cylinder powerplant in nearly thirty years of product development, the X100 offered a tantalising taste of classic Jaguar character for the modern driver. It was an enormous success, and the XKR, introduced in 1998, packed in a supercharger. Cherry on the sundae comes to mind.

The XKR 4.2-S was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2005. This was the last 'original' XKR, and quite a fabulous car it was, too. New Brembo discs, 20-inch split rim BBS alloys, red calipers and a top speed of 174mph meant that it earnt that Sports title.

Exact production numbers are disputed but I think we can agree that 'not many' of these so-called final edition 'White Badge' or 'Chequered Flag' cars were built.  It is an incredibly rare specification and elevates these cars above the standard models.

Cars produced between February and September 2005, 340 XKR versions were in this final limited edition run and of them 187 were the Coupe version but we do not know how many 'S' versions there were, this is one of those cars.
This 2005 example has been regularly serviced, with a comprehensive history and a heritage certificate. It's been kept under the care of the current keeper since 2008, and serviced by trusted specialists. Supplied with a fresh MOT, this high-octane roadster is no doubt bound to charm its lucky new owner.
