The Background
Debuting in 2003 and produced until 2007, the X350-generation Jaguar XJ formed the flagship of their full-size lineup, featuring a multitude of trim levels, engines and model designations, ranging from the 2.7-litre V6 diesel up to the crowning glory of the 4.2-litre supercharged V8.
As standard, the XJ was very well-equipped, featuring Walnut dash inlays, piano-black trim, extensive leather, climate control and more, whilst underneath safety features included ABS, traction control, stability control and more, making the X350 not only powerful, but also safe and luxurious - ideal for high-class, long-distance journeys.

The Interior
Plushly appointed from standard but bolstered with numerous considerate optional extras, the cabin of this XJ8 Sovereign is a wonderful place to soak up the miles, and this example has fared very well indeed for its age and mileage, remaining in good condition throughout.
There is, naturally, some slight signs of wear visible - such as small marks, scuffs and the like - on high traffic areas such as the door cards, shifter, steering wheel and inner door sills, but this wear is minor and limited to only small marks, with no damage to the seat covers that we can see, nor any wear to the lacquer on the walnut burr inlays.
Up above, there is some sagging visible to the headliner, a common problem with XJ's of all generations, but this should be easy enough for a competent trim shop to remedy.
The carpets are also in excellent condition, as are the dashboard and centre console, whilst there are no reported faults, warning lights or known issues with any of the electrical systems or switchgear.

The Exterior
As with the cabin, the bodywork and paint on this XJ8 have worn the years remarkably well, and present in very good condition for their age and mileage.
From what we can see, there are no notable dents, dings, impact damage or mis-aligned panels on the car, with the flanks being nice and straight throughout.
Naturally, there are some typically usage marks to the paintwork, such as light scratches, stone chips and minor marks to area such as the boot lip, bumpers and front end, though this is commensurate for the vehicle’s condition.
The brightwork and chrome details are in good order throughout with only a light smattering of patina, whilst the quad headlight lenses are free from damage, but are beginning to cloud over slightly - an easy Sunday afternoon job for the next owner should they wish to remedy this.
All four wheels are in great shape, with no visible kerb rash or major marks.
