The Appeal
In 2005 Jaguar went back to Geneva, scene of the E-Type’s era-defining launch, to announce a new car, one heavily influenced by that icon’s style and ethos. That car was the XK8 4.2S, the final version of one of the firm’s most capable and best loved sports cars.
Known as the ‘white badge’ cars for obvious reasons, less than 200 of these high specification models were reportedly sold and only 50 were said to be available in RHD. Exact figures vary but it all makes this Satin Silver convertible very special.
It retains its ‘white badge’ features and looks handsome inside and out. There is even a carbon fibre dashboard - a £4,000 option when new - to increase the appeal.
This car was been in the hands of the same keeper from from new until February 2024. In that time over £54,000 was invested in the servicing and maintenance, primarily using Jaguar franchised dealers. The result is a car that has been used and enjoyed but cared for to a very high standard.
The ‘white badge’ XK8 is the rarest and amongst desirable of these very usable coupes. With its long MOT to June 2025 this smooth convertible is ready to enjoy this summer.
