The Appeal
The Continental GT is without doubt one of Bentley’s most important cars. Half a century of Rolls-Royce ownership produced a few select gems, but by and large, the once hallowed Bentley name was deliberately held back so as not to show up anything its parent company had to offer. All that was to change in 1998, when following a brief stint of Vickers ownership, German auto giant Volkswagen have Bentley its big break.
Showcasing all-new Bentley design language, ground-breaking construction techniques and an awe-inspiring W12 engine, it was an automotive tour de force that took the world by storm when unveiled at the 2002 Paris Motor Show. Today, these first-generation cars continue to be revered by Bentley enthusiasts and so we’re pleased to offer this 35,000-mile example from 2005.

The Condition
- We’re assured the bodywork is arrow-straight, with no dents whatsoever
- The vendor comments that the car looks “stunning” when cleaned
- Very smart blue paintwork with remarkably few signs of age
- There is a scuff to the bodywork on the apron under the number plate (not visible without looking underneath) and a couple of small scuffs to the wheels. Otherwise the bodywork is in immaculate condition
- We’re assured that the underside is entirely corrosion-free
- The wheels were all replaced two years ago, simply because the vendor disliked the previous set
- New tyres were also fitted two years ago as the previous items were old rather than worn
- The interior has clearly been well looked after, with black floor mats protecting the beige carpeting
- The leather upholstery only exhibits light wear - as befits the exceedingly low mileage
- The woodwork looks fabulous
- All looks in fine order inside the luggage compartment
- The vendor advises that all the cabin electrics and systems work as they should
- The only thing on the car that doesn’t work is the opening mechanism to the boot via the Bentley badge - but the release switch for the boot on the driver’s door and the release button on the key work perfectly
