The Appeal
If you like supercar-level performance but, frustratingly, need to transport family and friends on occasion, then you want an Arnage T. The last of the truly ‘hand built’ Bentley saloons, the Arnage blends old-worlde coachbuilding traditions with thoroughly modern technology. Including a twin-turbo 6.75L V8 pumping out 455bhp.
The Arnage received a late-life facelift in 2005 and these later cars, delineated by their quarter of individual headlights, are both more modern and attractive. For those buyers to whom the standard options list was too limiting, there was the Mulliner service that enabled those with deep enough pockets to personalise their cars to their hearts content.
This Arnage T is both a later facelift model and an elevated Mulliner Level 2 car with a beautiful array of tailored features such as engine-turned trim - inlaid into burr walnut - and quilted Beluga leather.
The car was purchased by the Chairman of the Irish Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club (RREC) when it was one year old, before passing to his friend, the current keeper, nine years ago. As you would expect, the history file is truly impressive, a thick sheaf of invoices and receipts attesting to its fastidious maintenance.
There are some minor points to note in photos but overall this is a well presented, highly specified example of one of Bentley’s best saloons (which is saying something). It comes with the added reassurance of a long MOT.
