HIGHLIGHTS

  • Japanese Import
  • Two previous UK keepers
  • Presents very well

THE APPEAL

Owning any car imported from Japan comes with an excellent bonus…...the lack of salt on Japanese roads is perfect for keeping corrosion to an absolute minimum, and the cars generally have pretty low mileage compared to UK vehicles.
This 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 is fitted with the more desirable and rarer 4.0 litre V8; it comes with full leather and has minimal corrosion to the underside, thanks to not spending most of its life on UK roads.

The Discovery has recently had around £2,000 of maintenance carried out, ensuring everything is up to spec and working as it should. The MOT has just expired, but the vendor will put a fresh MOT on the 4x4 at the point of sale, meaning you get a full 12 months.

THE MECHANICS

  • Super smooth 4.0 litre V8
  • Automatic gearbox
  • A recent service and some work was carried out to the gearbox and rear differential
  • The Discovery starts up straight away with a distinctive V8 burble
  • The V8 pulls strongly through the gears, and the change is said to be smooth
  • Hi and Lo range operate correctly
  • No issues have been reported by the vendor with the running of the car
  • The underside has some light surface corrosion, but considerably better than a UK example
  • No knocks or bangs have been reported to come from the suspension
  • The brakes bring the Discovery to a stop in a straight line

SUMMARY

This is a fine example of a 2004 Land Rover Discovery, the 4x4 runs very well and has been given a full check over with any issues corrected. From the condition, you would not say it has seen much off-road activity, but that's not to say it's incapable.
One of the genuinely great 4x4 vehicles produced by the Land Rover giants which is in excellent condition for its age. Perfect for any Land Rover fan or 4x4 enthusiast.
