- Lamborghini's best-selling model
- Fabulous V10 engine generating 493 bhp
- 6-speed manual version
- Audi reliability built in
The Appeal
The Gallardo has been universally accepted as the car that put Lamborghini back on the map. It was at the time when Audi joined forces with the great Italian car company and their reliability shines through in the Gallardo. Taken from Guigiaro’s concept design, the Gallardo was the first model to receive the lusty 5-litre V10 engine and it became an instant hit.
This original UK car comes with a very rewarding 6-speed manual transmission rather than the semi-automatic, paddle change gearbox, which in the early years was a little clunky. In great overall condition, low mileage and an engine noise to die for, this has to be the supercar you’ve always promised yourself.

This car was acquired by the vendor brand new in Italy then driven back to the UK. It was then carefully stored in a dry environment until 2015 when it was first UK registered. It has covered minimal mileage since. It was recommissioned by Lamborghini and bought by the present owner.
Although the service and maintenance records are not available, it is obvious that the car has been looked after. There is more recent invoices for new brake discs + pads, tyres, spark plugs and a full suspension change to KW Coil-Overs.

The Interior
- Impressive black leather interior
- No modifications throughout
- Very little sign of wear
The inside of a Gallardo is just what you’d expect from an Italian Supercar. It has deep, supportive leather seats that show very little wear, and even the driver’s side bolster seems to have escaped serious wear. The manual gated gear shifter is very prominent and is topped by an aluminium ball.
The large binnacle that sits above the smart monogrammed steering wheel has a large shroud covering the bright and clear instruments. There is a CD player and tape deck fitted to the upper dash which may be considered a little outdated, but who cares when you have the V10 sound track just behind your head?
There are no major scratches or cracks to the dashboard and the whole interior presents itself well and all the Audi-derived switchgear operates as it should.
The Exterior
- Finished in Arancio Borealis Orange
- Deep gloss to paintwork with only minor blemishes and chips
- Some small paint defects to the front bumper
- Factory 19inch Cassiopeia alloy wheels
- Minimal kerbing to passenger front wheel
The sleek body of the Gallardo is beautifully accentuated with the orange paint colour which has a nice deep gloss. There are one or two minor blemishes including the odd stonechip, and the front bumper, which may have been painted, has some paint curtaining to its edges. Beyond that, the body is in very good condition overall and is devoid of any major repairs.
The large doors hang well and all the shut lines are precise. The headlamps are clear and bright, along with the other lamp clusters. The factory-fit wheels, which are gloss black, offer a nice contrast to the bright orange scheme and are all in good condition, with the exception of some kerb damage to the passenger side front.

The Mechanics
- Clean engine bay houses the standard V10 engine
- H pattern 6-speed gearbox
- Uprated Coil-over suspension has been fitted
- All factory standard braking system
In general terms, this Gallardo is as the factory intended, and why would you change that? It has the standard 5-litre 493 bhp V10 engine which is sat mid-car, and attached to it is the manual 6-speed gearbox. The Gallardo was also available with a semi-auto gearbox which was operated via paddles behind the steering wheel.
This early E-Drive gearbox was not as smooth or responsive as first hoped, making the manual version more popular at this age of car. The E-Drive was later improved. The suspension has been the only thing to be modified and a coil-over kit has been fitted to provide adjustment in ride height.

Summary
Low-mileage Gallardos are a rare thing indeed. Naturally they’re not most people's daily car and so are unlikely to be covering marathon distances.
Bright colours and Gallardo are natural bedfellows and this example shows why. It is a low mileage, clearly well looked after example of one of supercar motoring's most dynamic cars.
