The Appeal
Grand touring holds a special place in the hearts of nearly all automotive enthusiasts. A means of travel seemingly destined to appease those with petrol running through the veins, having spawned a great number of tailor made cars throughout the years. The Bavarian legends BMW have always been great at this with their impeccable 6 series model taking on the role. After a brief hiatus spanning through the later years of the 20th century, they revived a touring legend in the form of the all new E63/4 generation 6 series.
Impeccably styled, incredibly competent as a tourer and offered with a plethora of trim levels and brilliant powertrains the all new 6 series did a marvellous job of reviving the model, and in fact the whole idea of grand touring, still seen today as one of the all time great GT cars.
This 2004 model is the highly desirable 645 Ci 6 series, regarded by many to be the perfect midpoint in the range, blending genuine usability and luxury with outright performance courtesy of its wonderful 4.4 litre V8 powerplant. Well specced, and with a vast and comprehensive history file, this is certainly an excellent example of the model and would make a welcome addition to the driveway of someone looking for a thoroughbred grand tourer.
