The Background
Launched to the motoring public in late 1999, the seventh generation of the popular and proven Toyota Celica, with its clean and distinctive lines coupled with its rev hungry 1800cc engine, lightweight and razor-sharp handling chassis, delivered a very capable, and well-engineered, driver’s car.
Toyota were well known for their reliability and durability, and they offered great value for money and came with a long list of standard equipment, including airbags, ABS, electric windows and mirrors, a decent stereo and a leather-covered steering wheel. This car also has the optional extra of air conditioning and climate control fitted.
This superb one owner example can fairly be described as totally original throughout. Finished in the perfect Celica colour 3P0 Super Red. With its retro sports coupe body lines it would undoubtedly turns heads and attract attention wherever it goes.
The History
This car’s one and only owner took delivery in 2003 and has kept it garaged and maintained and serviced by the supplying Toyota Dealership and, in later years, by a local independent specialist.
He’s clearly looked after the car throughout his ownership as its current overall condition shows very clearly. He kept it all original, accepting small signs of age and use as well-earned patina collected during his time with the car.
It received its last full service in 2020, since which time it has done very few miles.
The Paperwork
A new 12 month MOT Certificate will be supplied with the car.
The current V5 Registration document is present with just 1 private registered owner from first registration in January 2003. A full file of receipts for servicing and maintenance is present which includes a fully stamped up service book with Toyota Dealers and Specialists.
The car comes with 2 keys, toolkit, and all the original Owner’s set of handbooks and manuals.
The Interior
The stylish, sporty interior of the Toyota Celica looks in good overall condition with only a few areas needing some light attention.
Front and rear fabric seats feature black central sections with vibrant red side trims all of which show little sign of use, except for a small area on the piping on the driver’s seat which looks like it has received wear from the seat belt over the years.
All the switchgear and instruments work as they should, and all electrics function correctly.
The Exterior
The original Super Red paintwork is in very good overall condition. There are some small stone chips at the front of the car and a few scratches and small dents here and there that the car has acquired through normal use.
The driver’s door mirror has picked up some light damage as shown in the photos.
All the lights are clear with rubber seals showing no signs of any fading or cracking and the original alloy wheels have never been refurbished and now show some light corrosion and are carrying some light kerbing damage. The wheels would certainly benefit from a good refurbishment in time and are all shod with recent new tires.
The vendor explained the car was to be presented for sale exactly as it is. Therefore the original number plates fitted from new by the Supplying Dealer Jemca Toyota were to remain on the car and also the last issued tax disc remain in the screen. He also mentioned that the standard factory alloy wheels have started to show minor cosmetic imperfections but would leave a new owner to decide on the decision of possible refinishing.

The Appeal
To find an unmolested standard and original example of this Toyota Celica model is rare these days, the model being very popular with customisers and tuners to play around with.
It’s a very attractive and stylish small coupe that handles well and delivers plenty of performance when required and certainly deserves its place amongst modern day motoring classics.
