The Appeal
With the risk of it becoming their “difficult second album”, Maserati was under a lot of pressure to get the 4200 GT right. Its predecessor, the 3200 GT, had put Maserati back on the map after decades in the doldrums, so its successor had to be equally impressive if it were to prove that the firm was back on a winning streak. Powered by Ferrari’s 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 and styled by the great Giorgio Giugiaro, needless to say, the results were superb.
This 2003 Coupé Cambiocorsa, so named for its F1-derived automated manual gearbox, is in lovely condition for its age. It’s covered a mere 55,910 miles during its two decades on the roads, with just four previous keepers. Offered for sale with an advisory-free MOT and substantial service history, this cherished example is sure to be a great addition to any driveway.
