The Appeal
The MK1 Focus RS truly is a fantastic enthusiast’s car, bridging the gap between retro performance Fords, and a then-new era of modern hot hatches. Equipped with the likes of a turbocharged 2L four-cylinder, Quaife LSD, and Brembo brakes, it’s certainly no slouch, and offers a superbly enjoyable driving experience, packed with character.
This RS is a fantastic example of the highly regarded hatchback, benefitting from years of caring ownership, and attentive maintenance along the way. With the exception of a few very light modifications and welcome mechanical upgrades, it's also a near-standard example, making it the perfect contender for those looking for a blank canvas or collection piece.
With tidy examples of these MK1s becoming increasingly rare, this opportunity is definitely not one to be missed.

The Interior
- Features black leather Sparco sports seats, with charcoal Alcantara details, and Racing Blue stripes. The seats are in excellent order, with only the expected light signs of wear & use to be found, mostly with the driver’s seat
- Fitted with tidy charcoal carpeting throughout, adorned with the original RS floor mats, which now show only the expected signs of wear & age
- Equipped with a Ripspeed head unit, Alpine subwoofer, and Pyramid amplifier
- Overall, the interior of this beautiful Focus RS presents itself in great condition for the vehicle’s age and reflects plenty of care. There are of course the expected signs of wear to note, but hardly anything that significantly detracts from the form or function
The Exterior
- Finished in the signature Imperial Blue, and presented in excellent condition with seemingly only minor blemishes, particularly to the front & rear bumpers. There is also light bubbling on the boot handle, although this appears to be in its early days
- Fitted with the correct 5-spoke 18” OZ alloy wheels, which present themselves well for their age, although a light refurbishment would no doubt alleviate the minor signs of age and blemishes now shown. The wheels come wrapped in pairs of Sumitomo and Toyo tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy
- This Focus RS’s exterior certainly presents itself very well for its age and offers a near factory-standard finish, free from significant modification. There are of course minor blemishes to note, such as the expected light scratches, front-end speckles and the aforementioned boot handle bubbling. That said, these are arguably nothing short of what you’d expect for a twenty-year-old hot hatch, and certainly shouldn’t deter keen bidders

- Excellent mechanical health, with no known issues
- Equipped with a new Airtec front-mount intercooler, and Pro Hoses silicon piping

- Fantastic service history, with plenty of key maintenance to note, including the likes of:

- New alternator, battery, and aux belt in June 2020
- New thermostat housing in February 2022
- New charge cooler in March 2022

- Last serviced 30th January 2023, at 88,388 miles
- Ready to be enjoyed, with MOT until 11 February 2024
