The Appeal
There was no getting around the fact that the F355 was a tough act to follow. It was one of the all-time great eight-cylinder Ferraris, so Maranello was going to have to pull out all the stops in coming up with a worthy successor. And, with the benefit of hindsight, we can say with confidence that they did an even better job with the 360.
Ferrari partnered with Alcoa to produce an all-aluminum space-frame chassis that was 40 per cent stiffer and 28 per cent lighter than the F355's. The 360 also made 419 horsepower versus its older sibling's 375. As usual, Pininfarina took care of the styling, and it's safe to say they know a thing or two about making a Ferrari look good...
This 2003 360 Spider stands out thanks to its full service history, and the most recent of which was performed in January 2025. As the photographs attest, this Ferrari boasts an enviable factory specification, as well as a few sensible upgrades like Bluetooth audio. You'll also note that it's in lovely condition for its age, no doubt helped by its mere 53,439 miles.

We like a red Ferrari as much as the next person., but you've got to admit, it's refreshing to see one in a colour other than Maranello's traditional rosso hue. Black really suits the 360 Spider's elegant Pininfarina lines and this example looks particularly good with the yellow Cavallino Rampante crests on the front wings, matched by yellow brake callipers.
We understand the roof to be a high-quality replacement item and it certainly appears to fit very well indeed. The Ferrari's bodywork presents beautifully for its age, with minimal imperfections, and the same can be said for the alloy wheels, which bear just a few small kerb marks.
On the inside, all appears exceedingly smart in line with the car's low mileage. The Crema upholstery is in particularly good order considering its age, while the vendor notes that everything works as the factory originally intended. The switchgear foes not appear to have suffered from the "sticky plastics" issue that haunts many an Italian car of this vintage.

The Mechanics
- 3.6-litre flat-plane V8
- Six-speed 'F1' automated manual transmission with paddle shift
- Updated belts fitted upon purchase from a sports car specialist
"It gives an amazing feeling every time you're in the driving seat", says the vendor, and we can well believe it. These 360s are wonderful to drive, and this one will be particularly eager with its lightning-quick 'F1' paddle shift transmission. The engine presents very well, nestled under its glass cover, while the car's full service history should reassure bidders that this is a well-kept car. The only advisory on the latest MOT notes the fitment of the factory under-tray - we don't know why some testers insist on putting that when its a feature of the car...
Ultimately, this looks a very well-sorted Ferrari 360 Spider, and we're deeply envious of the next lucky owner.
