Introduced in 1985, the Yamaha V-Max was initially sold solely in the US market -its purpose to be a complete powerhouse, with aggressive looks and phenomenal acceleration – a two-wheeled version of an American muscle car, if you like…
Powered by an 1197cc shaft-drive V4 engine producing 145bhp, the V-Max was sold in other markets from 1991, though those sold in Europe were detuned.
This one, though, is a South African model from close to the end of V-Max production, so is the full-fat, full power example. It’s in immaculate condition, is a low mileage example and is guaranteed to get noticed.

This is a very smart and original example of the seminal Japanese muscle bike, presented in superb condition and ready to register, use and enjoy.
There are only a handful of V-Maxs in the UK as it was only officially imported for a couple of years, but being the full-power non-European model this one is one of the most special – its imposing looks and incredible performance are sure not to disappoint.
