The Appeal

Those drawn here in search of a Clio shopping trolley may wish to look away now because while it may bear the name of Renault’s runaround on the tin, we’re in very different territory.
The Clip Sport V6 was hand-built by Renault RS Division and TWR as a showroom halo model and race car. It was as mad as a box of frogs. It got Renault’s 3L V6 engine - of course it did - which was, naturally, located behind the seats, and drive was switched to the rear wheels. Pumped up bodywork and a 6spd gearbox completed a car that looked like a hot hatch but had all the brio of a supercar.
Just 256 were built in RHD for the UK and this is car number 203. Depending on your source, between 100 and 200 remain. Classically finished in Iceberg Silver with a black leather and suede interior, this very well kept example has covered less than 54,000 miles with its handful of keepers.
The current keeper acquired it a couple of years ago for their collection and is only selling because they’ve bought a Sierra RS500 Cossie. During their time with the car it has been regularly serviced and received a wheel refurbishment plus rear caliper overhaul.
The car is very well kept and a good example of the early Phase 1 model. It has advisory-free MOT to June 2025.
The vendor says:
“When you drive this car it make a lovely burble, gives excellent performance and most of all... puts a smile on your face and I must say that compared to some of the Supercars in my collection, this car can draw crowds of admirers like nothing else I have ever owned!! :-)”
