The Appeal
If only everyone looked after cars so well as this P38 Range Rover, we wouldn't need to build half so many new ones...
As the photographs attest, this Range Rover Vogue SE A is in superb original order, benefitting from a great deal of work throughout its lifetime, much of which has been spent garaged.
The vendor tells us:
"I bought this car in December 2022 after looking at many P38s. I chose this one as not only does it have a very thorough paper trail to back it up, but it also is the cleanest on the underside I have seen in years. It has clearly been kept in a dry garage for the majority, if not all, of its life and has had some sort of protection coating added early in its life to the underside.
It has, in my ownership, had the suspension pump replaced with a genuine new one, side steps added, the battery replaced, and the air con re-gassed each year serviced as required at each MOT. The brake accumulator was also replaced last year.
It has five matching Pirelli tyres in fantastic condition with loads of tread on. In my ownership, it has also been garaged and not used when there was grit on the roads. The previous owner worked at Land Rover and was a very knowledgeable enthusiast. He was only selling it as he wasn't using it much. I am selling it as I have bought another Rover P5B, which is what I had before for over forty years, and I don't need two classics."
For those seeking the best P38 Range Rover they can find, this is surely a strong contender.

The vendor says:
"Driving this car is like going for a drive in a big old comfy sofa. The air suspension ride makes it glide along the road, taking everything easily in its stride. The gear changes are smooth and it has some poke if you want it to. It also has that V8 sound but it is not an offensive or loud sound. Basically, it drives like an old Range Rover should do.
This is now an increasingly hard-to-find vehicle in this condition with this history; they just don't make them like this anymore. This is one of the last proper range rovers in one of the best colours, that's what made me buy it."
