2002 Porsche 911 (996) Targa Tiptronic S

Highlights

  • Nicely specified with Targa roof and Tip S box
  • Recent suspension, gearbox and differential rebuild
  • Good service history by Porsche and specialists
  • Long MOT to October 2024 with no advisories
  • Perfect for weekend jaunts or longer road trips

The Appeal

There had been 911 Targas before, but until the 996 arrived they all disrupted the classic coupe profile. In 2002 Porsche solved that problem with a clever Targa that opened up the car’s versatility without compromising the aesthetics. These cars also got the improved 3.6litre flat six engine with more power.
Combining a practical hatchback with a full glass roof that incorporates a sunroof, the 996 Targa is a particularly desirable iteration of the 996. Add in the Tiptronic S sequential semi-automatic gearbox and you have a car perfect for relaxed sunny drives or press-on winter motoring.
This 996 features both those attractive options. With recent significant suspension, gearbox and differential work by Autofarm and a good service history record, this looks to be a well cared for, very usable example that also benefits from a long MOT.
