One of three recently converted 250 California SWB

Created in South Africa and just UK registered
‘Box fresh’ evocation in great colour scheme
Long MOT to June 2025 with no advisories
The Appeal
Just like Ferris Bueller, the chances are that, like us, you won’t be getting anywhere near a genuine 250 California any time soon. Just 106 factory cars were built and they carry multi-million price tags.
Step forward the next best thing, a very well detailed evocation based on modern, reliable and - above all - engaging BMW Z3 running gear. These cars are highly regarded by enthusiasts. Their level of detail means that the uninitiated won’t know the difference. Result: million-pound style, real world purchase price.
This car is not to be confused with alternative fibreglass-bodied cars. It is one of three cars based on the recreations in the Ferris Bueller film and constructed using hand-rolled aluminium. It was created in 2023 in South Africa by Cape Town’s Mr Skunkworks using the running gear of a well maintained 2002 Z3 3L, whose 230bhp performance is virtually identical to the original Ferrari.
The car has barely covered 100 miles since completion so comes to market essentially ‘box fresh.’ There is a recent service and long, advisory-free MOT to add to the sense of a showroom-condition car that will delight and entertain in equal measure.
