The Appeal

It was exactly the right name. ‘Azure’ conjures up the sweeping, winding corniche roads and wide, shaded boulevards of the South of France for which these big, handsome convertibles are perfectly suited.

The Azure was the last of a particular type of Bentley, one fully handbuilt and featuring the illustrious 6.75L V8 that had powered the cars since the 1950s. Just 1,400 left the works, all based on the running gear of the well regarded Continental coupe.

This three-keeper, ultra low mileage car follows an understated theme with its handsome ‘triple black’ finish - Mason’s Black paintwork, black mohair roof and sumptuous black leather cabin. It is a well specified ‘Mulliner’ model with the exceptionally rare 'Wide Body' specification and the usual bespoke features applied to these upgraded cars. It comes to market fresh from a very recent check over and maintenance by specialist Hanwell’s of London where the current keeper spent £15,000 attending to anything and everything.
