The Appeal
The car that put up one of the best fights against the likes of Mercedes and BMW in the executive class, the A6 is a hero among many. The Allroad variant, fitted with impressive height adjustable pneumatic suspension, a clever all-wheel drive system and the famous 2.7-litre biturbo engine, was truly an all-terrain machine that was ready for whatever you were able to throw its way.
The example presented here does show its signs of age and use, as to be expected of most cars around this kind of mileage. Reported to be in good mechanical health, these Allroads make for excellent, reliable, and surprisingly fast workhorses, with that biturbo lump at the mercy of your right foot able to produce a respectable 258 lb-ft of torque over a broad rpm band.
