The Appeal

The DB7 was an immensely important car for Aston Martin as their first new car in the esteemed ‘DB’ series since the DB6 was introduced in 1965. Built in partnership with Jaguar who were looking to replace their XJS, the DB7 was loosely based upon the same platform which had already proved capable of handling extra power courtesy of TWR.

The result was a highly capable and exceedingly beautiful GT which remains a firm favourite amongst Aston Martin enthusiasts to this day. After the straight-six models were well received, Aston commissioned a Vantage version which packed their gargantuan 6.0-litre V12 under the bonnet.
We’re delighted to offer this immensely fine 2002 Vantage Coupé which has covered just 30,853 miles in its 21 years on the road. Presented in excellent condition, in a fabulous colour combination, it has been cherished by its current owner since they acquired it in 2003. For those searching for a well preserved original example, we can heartily recommend this one.

The History and Paperwork

  • MOT valid until February 2024
  • 30,853 miles from new
  • We’re informed that the original owner was one of Channel 4’s finance directors
  • Upon the launch of the Aston Martin DB9 in 2003, the original owner placed an order and offered their DB7 in part exchange
  • The vendor acquired it from Grange Aston Martin at Welwyn in March 2003
  • Cherished, serviced and maintained over the past two decades
  • Stored carefully under an outdoor cover and washed / polished regularly
  • Accompanied by a substantial and carefully organised history file
  • V5C present
  • Collection of old MOT certificates and various invoices
  • Still accompanied by the original advert from which the vendor acquired the car back in 2003
  • Original book pack and tracker present
  • A number of stamps in the Original Service Booklet from Grange and thereafter cared for at Nicholas Mee & Co.
  • Please note the private registration "P11 OWW" is not included but could be available by separate negotiation

The Interior

  • Charcoal leather upholstery in fantastic condition for its age
  • Electrically adjustable, heated front seats
  • Alcantara headlining in fantastic order for its age
  • Very little in the way of wear to any of the carpets
  • All the controls remain original and well presented
  • Smart boot space with ample luggage storage for longer roadtrips
  • Highly figured woodwork
  • Aluminium pedals
Original extras include:
  • Satellite Navigation system
  • Premium audio package
  • Tracker security system (with all documentation still present)
  • Heated front screen
Intended as a grand tourer, the DB7’s interior is spacious and comfortable - perfect for covering long distances in a brisk and relaxed manner. All the leather is very well presented, with just the lightest of creasing accrued over the years. None of the upholstery exhibits any damage or excessive wear. The same goes for the door cards and carpeting, both of which are well presented, as is the inside of the boot. The headlining is smart too, as is all the woodwork.
This example is equipped with some choice extras, including satellite navigation and Aston Martin’s own premium audio package. All the switchgear presents really well and we understand all to be in very good working order.

The Exterior

  • Cairngorm Grey paintwork in very fine condition
  • Beautifully presented 18” ten-spoke alloy wheels
  • OEM-spec Bridgestone Potenza tyres which we’re informed were fitted recently
  • All the trim and badging is in really good order
  • Very straight bodywork
  • We’re not notified of any corrosion
With flowing lines by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet, the DB7 is one of Aston Martin’s best looking GTs and that’s really saying something when you look at their portfolio in its entirety. Cairngorm Grey looks utterly fabulous on this example, especially against the Charcoal interior.
The bodywork looks to be immensely straight, with crisp panel alignment and tight door gaps. The vendor assures us there’s no damage or corrosion and indeed we spotted no notable blemishes of any kind to the original paint and bodywork. All the trim is smart too, as are those handsome 18” ten-spoke alloys which all look to be in fine order.

The Mechanics

  • 6.0-litre V12 engine
  • Five-speed automatic gearbox with ‘Touchtronic’ function on the steering wheel
  • Large bore tailpipes specced from new
  • Recent new battery
  • We’re informed that it is serviced regularly in present ownership
  • The vendor reports that the car drives brilliantly, with no faults to report
Many argue that for a grand tourer to be considered truly great, it must be offered with a V12 engine and that’s exactly what Aston Martin did with the DB7 Vantage. Their 6.0-litre powerplant produced 420 bhp, affording the DB7 with quite staggering performance. It also set the standard for refinement, giving the DB7 Vantage an alluring Jekyll and Hyde character that would become beloved of Aston’s customers.
We’re assured that this example drives impeccably and the vendor doesn’t know of any mechanical issues whatsoever. With so few miles on the odometer, this remains a very healthy specimen.

Summary

These were such usable cars and seldom do you see such a low mileage example, let alone one that’s been in present ownership for twenty years.
In a fabulous colour scheme, highly specced and very well presented, this is a really fine DB7 so if you’d like to be its third owner, this is your chance to make it happen.
