The Appeal

When Alec Issigonis first penned the Mini, back in 1956, little did he realise what a cultural icon his economical super mini would become. By pairing the compact car with a sporty engine, the Cooper models were born which dominated the racetrack against much more powerful opposition and can still be seen today still dominating the track at events like Goodwood Revival.
Films such as The Italian Job further added to the Mini’s legacy and made it a lasting star of the silver screen.
The final flourish for the Rover Mini was the Cooper Sport models which are easily distinguished by their Platinum Silver roof, flared colour-coded wheelarched and upgraded interiors with Nickel Silver leather seats with black detailed edge panels and an aluminium turned dash.
This matching numbers Cooper Sport must have been one of the final flagship models to roll out of Longbridge when production ended in 2000. Registered in 2001 it is an unrestored, low mileage, three-owner car with an impeccable service history in fabulous condition. It’s definitely one for the Mini collectors.

Summary

This is a real gem of a Mini in low mileage, unrestored condition with a low ownership and a stack of invoices in a neat folder. It’s a perfectly preserved bit of 2001 Mini nostalgia and one of the very last models to roll out of Longbridge in top-of-the-range spec. It’s ready to go into a Mini collection, or simply to enjoy an unrestored car from the pen of Issigonis.
