The Appeal
It is difficult to imagine, given the present-day success of the Porsche brand, that in the early nighties, the manufacturer was struggling to keep up with fast-paced modernisation of the car.
Inspired by the 356 Cabriolet, the 986 Boxster came along in 1996 allowing sports car enthusiasts to get a fix of 2-seater fun without spending 911 money. It was a hit, managing to keep the respect as being a “proper Porsche” thanks to a rear-mounted flat-six and a convertible roof ensuring its status as part of the Porsche catalogue indefinitely.

Now cemented as a modern classic, low mileage, original examples are cherished by collectors. This one fits the bill thanks to long-term ownership and tasteful specification, making it ready to be cherished by a new custodian. Diligently maintained, this is likely to perk the ears of anyone in the market for a tidy B-road basher.
