The Appeal
For those used to sports cars with compromises, Porsche created the 996, a sporting car that didn’t require buyers to make excuses. It was comfortable, quick and above all reliable.
There was also a 996 for virtually everyone, as this smart Seal Grey Carrera Cabriolet shows. It is both press-on enthusiast weapon and relaxed summer days cruiser.
It is also the 996 you really want, the one equipped with the larger and more powerful 315bhp 3.6L flat six and the engaging manual box. It has been well maintained too, most notably with an engine rebuild by specialists Portiacraft in 2020 at 83,763 miles. It has covered less than 10,000 miles since.
The car comes to market in very good order with long MOT and a recent service by specialist Tower Porsche.
The vendor says:
“It's great to drive, it has been my day to day car and not let me down once. Very sad to see it go. This car is a great introduction to the world of Porsche 911 ownership. It can be driven every day and is so much fun to drive. I don't want to let it go but have bought another Porsche after this car gave me the bug.”
