If you’re looking for comfort and performance in equal measure, the W220 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is still a great option today. Equipped with a monstrous 5.0-litre V8, this 2001 example is a particularly fine specimen. It has been driven fewer than 20,000 miles in its 21 year life and has evidently been very well looked after from new. The current owner, a classic car collector and enthusiast, has not had the chance to use this car and so, it is now in need of a new home

The Exterior
- Very smart original paintwork
- The bodywork is really straight, all closures and gaps are correct and the paint finish looks to be original and very good
- The vendor points out a small scratch in the driver’s door
- There is a small, minor scuff to the O/S/R bumper corner
- There may be a couple of very minor stone chips, but nothing serious of note
- All of the glass and brightwork presents well
- The driver's door mirror glass is "misting"
- Sits upon 7-spoke alloys, a couple of which display minor kerb rash

- There are no visible signs of any fluid leaks
- Underneath, all appears to be in good order and there are no clear signs of corrosion
The Mechanics
- Under the bonnet, the 5.0-litre V8 is an imposing sight

- The engine is smooth, quiet and idles beautifully

Summary
There can’t be many 21 year old Mercedes-Benz S-Classes with fewer than 20,00 miles on the odometer. Having been carefully looked after its whole life, this is a fabulous example which remains in wonderful condition inside, out and under the bonnet.
