The Appeal
You could have a M5, but why would you? With 400bhp channeled through the rear wheels by a big, slurping supercharger, the X308 XJR is a much more characterful, stylish super saloon that is easily the equal of its Bavarian rival.
But there are X308 XJRs and there are X308 XJRs. The one you want, when you can find one, is this one - one of the 85 RHD UK market ‘100’ limited editions. Built to commemorate SIr William Lyons’ 100th anniversary, Jaguar dialled up the appeal of these cars with menacing black anthracite paintwork, black leather interior with red stitching and purposeful 19in BBS split rims to encase bigger Brembo brakes. Each car also got the R1 pack upgrades meaning a more planted road presence. Just 500 were sold worldwide.
This 100 retains all the menace of its showroom debut and is in very good condition. All of the special edition detailing is present and correct including sill trims, specification upgrades and discreet badges.
The car has had just five keepers in its life and been well maintained throughout. It comes to market with MOT to June 2025 and requiring nothing. Grab yourself one of Jaguar’s best ever saloon cars - and one of the rarest - before it goes.
The vendor writes:
“Nice to drive, no knocking, smooth gear changes, still powerful and responsive.”
