The Appeal

It’s hard to work out why the Ford Cougar wasn’t more successful. It was based on the superb Mk3 Mondeo, featured Ford’s a-la-mode ‘edge’ design and could be specified with the firm’s Duratec 24V V6. Which, lest we forget, is one half of Aston Martin’s superlative V12 6L motor.
Timing is likely the reason, because this comprehensive reboot of the Capri format is a very, very good car. The one to have, of course, is that V6. Which is lucky, then, because here we have one.
These cars are an exceptionally rare find today, especially ones like this. It has had just three keepers from new - two of them from the same family - and has a remarkable run of 23 service stamps from new. One for every year of its life to date.
Finished in stand-out Jewel Green metallic, this very tidy example is a rare find and would work well as a daily driver or weekend treat. The current MOT runs to November 2025.
