The Appeal
Weighing in at just over a ton and with stylish bodywork assembled by Carrozzeria Maggiora, the Barchetta cleverly utilised the basic underpinnings of the Mark 1 Fiat Punto, to make a capable little sports car. Fiat’s 1747 cc 16 valve engine drives the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox and the addition of a folding soft top adds to the enjoyment of driving.
We’re delighted to offer this 2001 example that was originally supplied to Germany. We’re informed that it has had just one previous owner since new and the odometer reading of 57,005 kilometres is believed to be correct. Last serviced in May 2023 where it was fitted with a new water pump and electrical timing equipment, this Fiat is said to be ready to use. It remains in excellent overall condition, beautifully presented and very original.
