Highlights
- Presentable M5 in desirable Silverstone Blue
- Rare AC Schnitzer body kit and alloys
- Desirable 6spd manual gearbox
- Factory fitted with over £10,000 of options
- Superb S62 V8 developing 390bhp
- Unused and stored since 2018 so will require some recommissioning
The Appeal
The E39 M5 is revered by enthusiasts because it hits that sweet spot in the late 90s when BMWs offered a fine balance of analogue engagement and technological trickery. There was also that superlative S62 V8 engine knocking out 390bhp via a similarly well sorted chassis.
This 2001 M5 is finished in popular Silverstone Blue metallic and left the factory with over £10,000 of options. This included the rare and subtle AC Schnitzer body kit and five spoke alloys that you can see in the photographs.
Although it has been unused in recent years – so will require some recommissioning – it looks an encouragingly solid example with a very good interior. The E39 M5 is one of the best BMW saloons ever built and this looks like a great way into ownership.
