The Appeal

In many regards, the DB7 re-established what being an Aston Martin really meant. While its poised, handsome lines were instantly recognisable, it stood out from its predecessors for a distinctly related, gentlemanly approach to the road. While Astons were expected to be muscular and action-packed, the DB7's powerful performance was more leisurely and suave. It was still intensely capable - more than capable of roaring - but did so with a well-pressed shirt and well-kept tie.

Even for Aston Martin's esteemed standards, the DB7 was remarkably refined and polished. Smooth lines and subtle callbacks led to Ian Callum's remarkable design being heralded as one of the best-looking British cars since the E-Type, and thirty years later, it's no slouch. It still looks cutting edge yet fearlessly traditional, something that runs through its refined cabin with ease.

This 2001 Vantage is a remarkable ambassador.
