The Appeal

Introduced in 1995, the 916 Spider represented Alfa Romeo’s march forward from what, in essence, was a 30-year-old model - the 105/115 Spider. With a huge clamshell front, a side-slashed body and a hardcover for the soft top - its bold Pininfarina-penned lines made a great impression at the time. To this day, the 916 GTV and Spider are rightly considered supremely handsome cars.
With the body shells being entirely galvanised, they’ve proven to be hardy survivors - especially by Alfa standard - and a great opportunity for fun, top-down motoring. This 2001 example is very smart and benefits from a great deal of recent work. The belts and water pump were changed at 84,000 miles, while new rear shocks and springs, new wishbones and front-end bushes were also fitted. It also boasts a new hood and a stainless steel exhaust system.
