The Appeal
The original Cooper cemented the Mini’s reputation as the ultimate go kart and values are accordingly stratospheric. Far more accessible and perhaps equally if not more exciting are the final MPI cars, particularly those equipped with the Sport Pack.
This Cooper Sport was built one month before production ended, reportedly the 763rd from last. It is one of only 650 built with the rear brake light before the ‘500’ final cars were produced.
Finished in popular Tahiti Blue with Platinum roof and two tone black and silver leather cabin, it is pleasingly factory standard and sports a very low mileage. The service history reflects the enthusiasm of its five keepers who have regularly maintained it throughout its life.
The current keeper bought it five years ago and has always garaged it, never using it in the rain. The result is a solid and very presentable example of these sought after final cars. There are some minor points to note but nothing that would prevent you getting in and enjoying it. A long MOT to July 2025 confirms that.
