The Appeal
Few names stir the motoring soul quite like ‘Mini’ and ‘Cooper.’ John C’s inspired makeover released the inner go-kart of Issigonis’ city car and created a legend.
The final cars stayed true to the principle, but even in 2000 there was still space for the John Cooper Garage to add its own magic in the form of the 90bhp Cooper Works S package.
This rare Tahiti Blue Cooper - just 600 are believed to have been built - is not just one of the last built, but also has been treated to that tasty 90bhp Cooper Works package. But then, if you’ve checked the photos and seen the number plate, you probably already knew that.
It has covered a minuscule 18,875 miles in its 24 years and is in good overall condition. It was last serviced less than 1,000 miles ago and there is a long MOT. There are a few areas for the buyer to consider but nothing that stops this car being immediately ready to use and enjoy.
The vendor tells us:
“At petrol forecourts, strangers come to talk to you about their mini experiences and to admire the car at close quarters. It turns heads as you drive down local roads, with adults reminiscing to their children.”
