2000 Nissan 200SX Touring

Highlights

  • 28,000 miles from new
  • Same owner for the past 10 years
  • Manual car
  • Lots of paperwork
  • Original condition
  • A proper collector’s item

The Appeal

It is rare to find an original 200 SX these days as this model has become popular amongst tuners and drifters across the globe. Our example has only covered 28,000 miles from new, and roughly 1300 miles in the past decade.
With a sizeable history folder and some recent invoices, this has to be one of the best, untouched, 200 SXs on the market today.
Don’t miss out on this amazing find - a true collectors piece for the 'Gran Turismo generation'.

The History and Paperwork

  • Although it is difficult to say where the car was before the current owner, we know that it was originally bought from Polesworth Garage
  • On the 14th of April 2000, the first owner picked up their new 200 SX
  • During the following 11 years, it went through a few owners, but they all respected the car and kept it original
  • The current owner acquired the car in 2011
  • Originally the idea was to use it as a daily vehicle, but plans changed
  • It has subsequently been in storage for the past 11 years
  • Despite this, it was always kept up to date with its MOT, which helps track the mileage, proving that it is genuine
  • There are a few invoices present in the paperwork
  • In 2012 it goes in for its MOT and has a little bit of work done to the front brakes
  • One from 2017 shows a new battery was fitted
  • In 2019 it has the rear brakes seen with new pads
  • In July of 2022, it has a full service and also a new MOT put on
  • There are also two keys, both with immobiliser fobs, with the spare key having the master fob
  • You can also find the original Polesworth Garage tags on these keys too

The Interior

  • Original interior
  • Being the touring, it is fitted with some rather fetching cream leather seats
  • Both upfront, and in the rear, these seats are presented very well indeed
  • You may spot some age-related marking to the front seats, but these are superficial, and no major damage is present
  • The Touring version also received a nice radio and aircon
  • These two features are still present, however, the latter wasn’t tested on the day of the photoshoot
  • In the driver's footwell, you’ll find a lovely original Polesworth Garage overmat
  • Its these little features that just show how cherished this car has been over the years
  • The headliner is in very good condition as well
  • The grey carpets have been preserved over the years and as such are in great condition in the front and rear compartments
  • The centre console and dash section are made from black plastic
  • As the car has been in storage it has been kept out of the sunlight, meaning no harmful UV rays could damage the plastic
  • As such the plastic is still in great condition
  • There are no obvious big scratches or deep gauges to the material
  • The door cards also have this plastic, but also a soft touch panel
  • A couple of points on the interior to point out are of course the odometer and the manual gearbox
  • In the boot, you'll find a big space for all of your luggage
  • There is also an original 10 CD changer, a proper piece of 00s tech
  • Under the carpet, you’ll find the spare wheel and toolkit
  • There is also a jack hidden behind a side panel in the boot
  • Overall, the interior is presented in very good condition and ready for its next owner

The Exterior

  • Once again, the exterior is highly original
  • All four alloys are in good condition, with the offside front showing a few small marks
  • It sits on four Yokohama tyres, but these have been on the car for a while and could do with changing
  • the rear of the car is nicely presented with the original badges and clean light lenses
  • But the front looks very aggressive
  • Its angle design and thin headlight design make for a proper looker
  • The striking red paint is in very good condition
  • The low chin spoiler up front looks to be in good condition
  • But there is some slight marking to the offside area, just under the front fog light
  • Along with some slight paint marking just above
  • As a totally unmodified car, it looks amazing
  • Whatever you wish to do with this car during your ownership, be rest assured that the car looks very good indeed
  • People always admire these cars

The Mechanics

  • Fitted with a capable mechanical package
  • Under the bonnet is an unmodified and original 2.0l turbo
  • The twin-cam, 16-valve, turbocharged engine works extremely well
  • To get to the photo location a short drive was undertaken
  • During the drive, it was marvelled at just how quiet the cabin is whilst on the move
  • There were no undue or worrying sounds present from any mechanical component
  • The suspension was soft, and certainly not creaky or knocky
  • It was easy to switch between its five speeds and the clutch seemed to be good
  • A couple of hill starts had to be undertaken and it pulled away nicely with no apparent juddering
  • Don’t forget this car has covered less than 30,000 miles
  • As such most of the parts have expired little wear
  • Although not in constant use, it has always had an MOT and service when needed
  • You should be able to get in and drive this car straight home after collection
  • Don’t miss out on this low-mileage example
