The Appeal
It’s easy to see why the current keeper of this very low mileage XKR gifted it to himself as a 70th birthday present. It is a great example of a sumptuous, supercharged convertible that feels like the very definition of ‘reward.’
The joy of the X100 XKR is that it is as relaxing and cossetting over long distances as it is enjoyable on twisting, scenic back roads. There are plenty about, but cars as good as this one - and as sparingly used - are considerably rarer.
Finished in gold metallic with a smart beige roof and ivory leather, it shows few signs of its 25 years. That is thanks to a combination of its very low mileage - just 33,000 documented miles from new - and the care of its handful of keepers. They have kept the servicing and maintenance up to date. It presents very well across usual X100 check points such as arches and sills.
The vendor acquired the car in 2020 and is only selling due to a change of circumstances. During his time with the car he has, in his own words ‘treated it to anything it needs.’ That has included work to the ABS system, new gearbox bellhousing, replacement brake pipes and roof hydraulics. He tells us it needs nothing - because if it did, he’d have sorted it.
This car has all the hallmarks of a future show star. The long MOT to July 2025 underlines the provenance.
