Highlights
- Family owned for years so 3 owners are the same family
- Supercharged V8
- 20” BBS alloy wheels
- Beautiful leather interior
The Appeal
Jaguars sleek X100 coupe and convertible range debuted in 1996, all models used the legendary AJ-V8 motor but came alive in 1998 with the addition of the supercharged XKR, which we have here, and made 370bhp.
This very tidy example has been in the same family for quite some time passing from father to son and back again, so three of its 5 owners are the same people, who have kept it running well.
In dark metallic blue with cream leather interior it is a beautiful colour combination set off nicely by the upgrade 20” alloy wheels.
The History and Paperwork
- New MOT in June 2022
- Main dealer then independent Jaguar specialist servicing
- The personalized number plate ( J99 SGH) is not included in the sale
Sold by Evans Halshaw and first registered in Milton Keynes, the XKR stayed in the main dealer network for almost ten years, and in recent years has been cared for by S.E. Jags, an independent Jaguar specialist.
The current owner originally purchased this car several years ago, before selling it to his father who had rather liked it, but some time later the car wasn’t being used so be bought it back as its far too good to be left parked! However he does have a number of cars so is slimming his collection down.
The Interior
- Burl walnut trim trim
- Cream leather
- Power hood
The Jaguar has a beautiful cream leather interior, the well padded sports seats are in very good condition with just a little creasing and patina on the drivers seat, the others showing little sign of use. The same cream leather covers the door cards which are generally in good shape although there are some marks on the drivers door which also has a slightly loose speaker grill.
The dashboard is very attractive burl walnut timber and is in lovely condition with only some crinkles in the lacquer around the rev counter which is not easily seen unless the light catches it. The wood continues on the gearshift and window switch surrounds and the steering wheel itself, also trimmed in darker leather to match the dash and door tops, and is in very good condition.

Under the fitted mats the carpets are a similar brown to the steering wheel and are in good shape with few marks and little wear, and in the rear the 2+2 bucket seats down look to have seen much use, although the fabric speaker grills have come loose.
The Exterior
- Upgrade alloy wheels
- Good power hood
Perhaps the most important part of a convertible is the roof, and here the hood is in excellent condition. The fabric is very good, the glass rear screen unmarked and it raises and lowers currently from the dashboard switch.
The deep metallic blue paint looks fabulous on the sweeping curves of the XKR, it has a good shine, although there are a number of stone chips, small scratches and other marks around the car, and a couple of door dings in the flanks and there is some bubbling coming through on the offside rear wheel arch.
The Jaguar has 20” BBS alloys which look like split rims, there are curb marks on all four, and they have pairs of Michelin and Pirelli tyres fitted.
The Mechanics
- Supercharged V8
- 5 speed automatic
- New MOT
Although it has not covered many miles in recent years, the Jaguar has been kept serviced as dictated by mileage and any other non service items have been changed as required.
The engine runs smoothly and the five speed automatic gearbox shifts easily. The owner tells us it drives very well and the exhaust has a delicious V8 growl that will have you prodding the throttle once too often when the roof is down.
Under the bonnet the engine bay is clean and tidy, with witness marks from prior maintenance and no sign of fluid loss from lubricant or coolant
Summary
This is a very smart and attractive car, the metallic blue with cream leather being one of the most attractive colour combinations, and the interior a real high point of the car with every tactile surface high quality leather, bur walnut or heavily chromed metal. The supercharged V8 is strong and has a fabulous sound from the twin exhausts.
