Highlights
- Carefully dry stored during the six years of present ownership and reportedly never driven in the rain during this time
- Totally standard and unmodified, with its factory 395 bhp
- The last generation of M5 to be solely offered with a six-speed manual gearbox
- Beautifully presented and in fantastic condition for its age
The Appeal
The M5 has been a staple of BMW’s performance lineup since 1985 and the idea of owning a hot version of a family-friendly executive saloon is still very appealing. Introduced in 1998, the V8 engined E39 M5 was given an impressive 395 bhp which was fed to the rear wheels exclusively via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Here we have a very presentable 2000 example, which remains entirely unmodified and in fantastic condition for its age. Judiciously serviced and carefully stored in recent ownership, this stylishly understated BMW would be a brilliant addition to any sports car collection and is without doubt to be considered a modern classic.

Summary
We’re big fans of the E39 M5 and if you favour a manual gearbox, there’s very little like it available today. This example has aged very gracefully, thanks to careful maintenance, so if you’re looking for one of these high performance saloons, this is an excellent opportunity.
