The Appeal
Such is the nature of Saab’s engineers that when they were asked to modify General Motors’ Cavalier running gear to create a new mid-size Saab, they ended up getting rid of virtually everything. GM was not happy.
Saab enthusiasts, however, were. The NG900 and its updated 9-3 sibling are true Saabs powered by the firm’s classic ‘slant four’ and thoroughly infused with the sort of clever thinking for which Trollhattan’s Trolls were renowned.
Good, exceptionally low mileage survivors like this one are incredibly rare today. It is surely amongst the best and least used around, having covered under 29,000 miles in the hands of five keepers, most of them members of the same family.
The condition is truly remarkable. This car is close to collector or museum quality. Certainly it would be a sound basis for a concours car. The history is similarly impressive, proving so extensive that a second service book has been required. There are 21 service records running up to late 2023. The car has covered few miles since.
Beyond the remarkable condition, this car’s specification also makes it stand out. The vendor believes it is the only remaining Copper Bronze car in this 2.3 litre specification in the UK. It is an impressive and attractive colour.
With a long, advisory-free MOT to September 2025, this is a perhaps real find for the enthusiast.
The vendor tells us:
“Incredible mint, time warp condition would look entirely at home in a museum. It is a very rare and original Saab with all the desirable features in a stunning rare colour.”
