The Appeal
When it comes to sheer opulence and luxury, nothing comes close to a coachbuilt Rolls Royce. With the kind of build quality and no-expense-spared engineering you simply don’t find anywhere else, they’re one of the few luxury cars that still genuinely are in a league of their own.
Here we have a great example of a very original, high-specification SIlver Spur Division by Park Ward. An exceptionally rare car, it has lived its life in Hong Kong before being imported to the UK this year. It is now ready for a new owner to enjoy the kind of effortless grandeur these vehicles are famed for…

The Interior
- Sandstone leather upholstery with blue piping
- Burl wood trim
- Electric privacy division
- Separate front and rear compartment air-conditioning
- Individual front and rear compartment stereo systems
- Electrically operated, heated seats with memory function
- Opulent, high quality fitments
There’s really only one word to describe the combination of leather upholstery and burl wood trim you find in this car: sumptuous. The Sandstone leather with contrast blue piping lends the cabin an elegant, light and airy feel. Alongside the contrasting blue leather of the dash and burl wood trim, it’s the kind of environment that wouldn’t look out of place in a stately home.
Presented in original, unrestored condition, the interior is in overall excellent condition. Of course, as a 24-year-old car the leather and other trim shows some signs of age, but nothing more than what could fairly be described as “expected patina”. The carpets are deep, dark blue items and in very good condition, as is the headlining, door cards and other fabric elements. In the front, the dashboard and controls are all in fine condition, very legible and displaying minimal wear. The vendor tells us that all of the car’s functions work as they should, with no issues they are aware of.
As a car intended to be used as a limousine, there’s a powered privacy division between the passenger and driving compartments. Add to this the extra 14” Park Ward built into the wheelbase, and it makes the rear compartment truly commodious. You get the feeling Goliath could stretch out in there without too much trouble.
Of course, it’s about more than sheer room - the car is brimming with luxurious and decadent touches too. From separate air-conditioning and stereo systems front-to-back, to vanity mirrors, personal tables, a bottle cooler in the centre armrest and a cocktail cabinet, this Silver Spur has everything you could need for excessively comfortable luxury travel.
The rear luggage compartment is trimmed in similarly thick carpet as the main cabin, and is in lovely condition. Also mounted in the boot is a fire extinguisher, while a full-size spare wheel is stored beneath the floor panel.
The Exterior
- Royal Blue paintwork
- Gold coachline
- Long wheelbase (14” stretch)
- Original 16” wheels with highly-polished wheel covers
- Polished stainless steel sill covers
With a 14” stretch over the standard Silver Spur, the Division strikes a mightily imposing figure.
That Royal Blue paint is in fine condition, with some minor blemishes and marks, but no signs we could see of significant marks. With a polish, the paintwork would soon be back to its original best. Meanwhile, the panels and bodyshell have clearly been very well kept, with no evidence of damage, corrosion or any repairs that we could see.
The deep Royal Blue paint contrasts beautifully with the acres of stainless brightwork on display, from the iconic, upright grille and the Lady herself, to the shimmering sill covers, handles and windows reveals. All of the brightwork is presented in fine condition, with minor blemishes as would be expected, but nothing that would concern us.
We’re assured by the vendor that the underside of the vehicle is “excellent” with no damage or corrosion.
The Mechanics
- 6,761cc V8
- Automatic transmission
With Rolls Royce’s renowned 6.75-litre V8 once again pressed into service in the Silver Spur Division, power is delivered in the kind of flowing, seemingly endless way that their models are known for. Married to that buttery-smooth automatic transmission it offers completely unruffled comfort for passengers, while having the ability to cruise vast distances at great speed and in near-silence.
The car benefits from a part specialist service history from its Hong Kong ownership. The vendor tells us that the car drives exactly as you’d expect from a Rolls Royce, with no mechanical issues. Certainly the engine bay is very clean and tidy, clearly having been well maintained.
Summary
This incredibly rare and beautifully specified vehicle is a true coachbuilt, limited edition luxury limousine. With a beautiful finish inside and out, it benefits from the kind of engineering integrity and heritage that most car-makers can only dream of.
From the swathes of gorgeous Sandstone leather to the high-quality burl wood and other fitments and features, it’s a truly aristocratic vehicle. Whether you’re looking for a limousine for your luxury transport business, a car for a wedding service, or simply want a great example of one of the finest built cars on the planet, this high-born and luxurious machine could well be the perfect solution.
