The Appeal
Germanic build quality at its best. Here’s a car that has been dutifully cared for from new and was in the care of one owner for 21 years. Packed with lots of factory options that add a real personal touch to the car. 7 seats, an electric sunroof, Parktronic sensors front and rear and those glorious Monobloc AMG wheels make the car a real gem to look at and to drive. It is not often that a car with such an array of extras, in such lovely condition and with 23 services over 23 years becomes available.
The History and Paperwork
- Original Book Pack
- Full Invoiced Service History
- Itemised List of Services
- 12 Original Dealer Stamps
- Last Service March 22
Service history is everything and you won’t find one as complete as this one. Owned by the same family for 22 years from new, this car has wanted for nothing. The first 12 years of servicing have been done at the supplying dealer and then at Specialist outlets. The mileage is very low, never the less, there are no gaps in that extraordinary history.
The Interior
- Leather Seating
- Powered Front Seating
- Heated Front Seats
- Rear Facing Supplementary Seats
- Electric Glass Sunroof
- Clear Functioning Instrumentation
- Clean Headlining
The cockpit of any Merc of this vintage is a great place to be, and this one is enhanced further by the excellent quality and lack of wear. Free from tears, burns and quite frankly, any real evidence of use. The dash instruments are clear and bright with all LEDs working as they should. The carpets are clean as is the headlining. The supplementary rear-facing seats are in such good condition, you could be forgiven for thinking they have never been sat on. There’s a CD Changer in the boot along with a spare wheel and tyre that has never been used.
The Exterior
- Obsidian Black Metallic Paint
- Roof Rails
- 18-inch Monobloc AMG Alloy Wheels
- Original Alloy Wheels with Tyres
- Parktronic Sensors Front and Rear
The coachwork has a lovely depth of shine and in certain light creates a delightful bronze hue. There is no obvious evidence of any repairs and the paintwork is seemingly free of scratches and chips. The choice of wheel upgrade to a set of AMG Monobloc rims really suits the low sleek look of the car. They would benefit from a little TLC but they are not kerbed and the tyres have lots of tread. The wheels that were removed have been kept along with a set of Michelin Pilot Tyres with at least 5mm of tread.
These would benefit from being refurbished and would make a valuable winter set. The glass and light clusters are free from chips and the chrome embellishments are intact and bright. Although the underside has not been fully inspected, the photographs taken at ground level appear to show it to be clean and free from any obvious damage or corrosion.

The Mechanics
- Painstakingly Maintained
- Silky Smooth 6-Cylinder Engine
- Automatic Transmission
- No Expense Spared
The 3.2 6 Cylinder engine in this Mercedes is legendary. They may not be the most powerful but they are strong and can reliably cover plenty of miles, not that mileage is an issue with this car having covered so few. The engine is smooth and quiet without any visible emissions coming from the tailpipe.
The transmission engaged gear without any unwanted clunks and changed gear without hesitation. The extraordinary servicing regime has paid dividends as everything operates as it should. The steering is precise and smooth, the brakes pull the car up smartly without pulling and the ride is as smooth as you’d expect from a much younger machine.

Summary
Sometimes a car comes along that just can’t be ignored. It might be the condition, the rarity, the impeccable history or just that it’s a great-looking car. But, when one comes along like this Mercedes E320 Avantgarde that has all of the above, everyone is sure to sit up and take notice. The car has a low and sleek look, a lusty 6-pot motor, incredible service history and minuscule mileage, there can’t be many opportunities to obtain such a rare machine in such great condition. Don’t let this opportunity slip you by.
