The Appeal
As the Millennium loomed over the horizon, Mercedes-Benz were undergoing a paradigm shift in order to keep up with the constantly transforming market. The new Mercs were more fashionable, lighter and faster on their feet - and the R170 was the perfect modernisation of their classic roadster formula.
This 1999 example has been maintained regardless of cost, which to our eyes is evident in its condition. The striking red livery still has a lovely shine, and the MOT will be valid all the way up until August 2025. Add the refurbished wheels and new Clear-Glass headlamps into the equation, and you've got a simply superb route into the world of Mercedes-Benz roadsters.
