The Appeal
Chris Bangle’s Fiat Coupe was a masterstroke. Few cars of the 1990s are as distinctive and well resolved. The final LE Limited Edition cars dialled up the drama with distinctive body kits. Equipped with the firm’s clever five cylinder 20V turbo, the simply named Coupe also had the performance to match those stand-out aesthetics.
This LE certainly has. The engine has been rebuilt by FC Performance, the renowned Fiat Coupe tuning specialist, to deliver an incredible 420bhp. The running gear, including clutch, gearchange, exhaust and intakes, have been upgraded to match.
Fortunately the aesthetics have been left alone: this potent car looks exactly like any LE. Finished in stand-out red with matching two-tone interior, it is well kept and retains its special edition fittings.
A good service history, including records of all that FC Performance work, combines with a long MOT. Buyers should note that the MOT advisories have been attended to, meaning that this car comes to market with all the appeal of a brutally exciting, hugely rewarding Italian classic.
