The Appeal
The E36 was a revelation. There had been great 3-Series BMWs before but the new car created a benchmark for rivals that they scrabbled to meet. It really was that good.
And the M3 was, of course, the greatest version of a truly great car. Later models got a facelift alongside an enlarged 3.2litre version of the stunning S50 straight six delivering over 300bhp. The convertible version added in four seater open top enjoyment while a raft of special options only increase the desirability of these cars to modern collectors.
One of the most popular was the Carbon Black paintwork, a beguiling finish that changes shade depending on the light levels.
With an exceptionally low mileage reflected in its highly preserved condition, this 1999 Evolution is a rare treat. The Carbon Black paint is cleverly contrasted by a stand-out tan interior, all in very good condition. Add in a full service history with few miles since the last visit and you have a car that surely ticks most if not all buyer boxes.
