The Appeal

Sharing much with the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph, more than £200 million went into the development of the Bentley Arnage, resulting in an all-new flagship car which had very little commonality with any previous Rolls Royce or Bentley. At the very pinnacle of motoring prestige, the Arnage was peerless in its day and even its unnecessary convoluted German parentage couldn’t blemish its form as a showcase of engineering, build and class. Costing three times as much as the equivalent four-seater luxury BMW with the same V8, the Arnage today represents an astonishing lavish experience for less than the price of a modern shopping car.
This Bentley Arnage displays a presentation that betrays its age. Finished with the appealing colour combination of Peacock Blue with Parchment interior piped in blue, this 1999 model benefits from a stiffer body shell and a more efficient BMW power plant, famed for its reliability and more modest maintenance costs. Complete with an MOT to February 2024, it appears to have been well maintained and cherished.

  • No reports of issues while the car is in motion
  • The ZF 5HP30 automatic transmission is said to operate perfectly

Summary

There simply is nothing else that you can compare the Arnage with, its huge performance, combined with modern safety aids, luxury and a surprising talent for agility simply adds to the classy image and utter comfort that one would expect from the brand. As one of the first of the new generation of ‘modern’ Bentley's it offers a uniquely hushed yet punchy experience at what has to be considered a very modest outlay.
