The Appeal
To say the DB7 was long-awaited is a huge understatement. Fourteen years had passed since the DB6 ceased production in 1970 and that’s because Aston Martin reserves the ‘DB’ prefix for its very best grand tourers. Developed in partnership with Jaguar, the financial backing of Ford and the input of Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the DB7 was an evolution of the hugely successful Jaguar XJS platform. It was styled by the legendary Ian Callum and those svelte, classically influenced lines still look sharp three decades on.
This 1999 DB7 is a 3.2-litre AJ6-engined example with a four-speed GM automatic transmission. It’s only covered 42,317 miles during its 25 years on the road and has reportedly benefited from full Aston Martin service history until around 40,000 miles. As the MOT history shows, the Aston spent a period off the road in 2023 and 2024 but has now been subjected to a major recommissioning service on 24th September 2024 costing £975. Complete with a long advisory-free MOT and ready to enjoy, this Aston Martin represents a compelling opportunity.
