The Appeal
Following the success of the Series 1 106 Rallye, with its perky 1.3-litre engine, low kerb weight and sparkling handling, it was inevitable that Peugeot would try and recapture that magic when the 106 was face-lifted for the Series 2 car. And so it was that the Series 2 car became the basis for another limited run, homologation special ‘Rallye’ edition.
This time, however, a 1.6-litre engine was fitted, along with improved brakes and suspension from the GTI model. With a similar approach to weight-saving and simplicity as the first car, the result was a 103bhp hot hatch that tipped the scales at just 865Kg and offered handling that is best described as “telepathic”. Superb steering feel and agility on par with a housemartin have made it a firm favourite amongst those who treasure driving feel above all else.
This example is finished in the classic Bianca White colour scheme and is presented in very original condition, with no modifications. If you’ve been on the lookout for a fun little hot hatch with sparkling responses and a legendary reputation for squeezing every drop of fun from every drive, then this could well be the car for you.

Summary
A lively and pugnacious little hot hatch, offering spritely handling and a revvy, perky powertrain. These fun little homologation specials are increasingly difficult to find in unmodified condition, so make sure you don’t let this one slip the net.
