The Appeal

When it hit the market in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 renewed a lost art form. Not since the Triumph Spitfire or MG Midget had a company really focused its efforts on the cheap, simple rear-wheel-drive roadster, and it really kept up that concept of small, nimble sports cars the motoring world had been missing.

Needless to say, it was a smash hit. By the turn of the millennium, it had been declared the best-selling two-seat sports car in history, and to this day every generation is eagerly clamoured for. This second generation example, picked out in a striking Evolution Orange Pearl livery, has been cherished - and has covered a remarkably scant 23,121 miles from new.
