Highlights
- Full-service history
- Recent full BMW service and inspection
- Very good condition throughout
The Background
BMW released the very special M roadster variant in January 1998.
Powered by the famous M-Technik 3.2 litre straight six developing 316bhp, the M roadster delivered massive acceleration and a muscle car feel. Zero to 60mph in 4.9 seconds on its way to its limited 155mph top speed, guarantee the M roadster's performance credentials.
The retro styled Z3 was an instant classic when launched, and the M roadster is a very well build and exciting driver’s car with instant acceleration available no matter what gear you’re in.
The History
The M Z3 was bought at the end of 2020 by the current owner, a committed BMW Z3 enthusiast, and taken to the local BMW for a full service and thorough inspection. It passed with flying colours and he has enjoyed trouble free driving throughout his time with the car.
Always garaged he has used the car sparingly, covering only a few hundred miles.
The Paperwork
The car comes with its V5c showing 6 previous keepers and an MOT, which expires at the end of June 2022.
There is a full set of owner’s manuals, a nicely stamped up service book, several receipts for servicing and a large wad of MOT certificates through the years.
The car comes with 2 keys, and the current private registration VNZ 388 is available by separate negotiation should the successful bidder wish to secure it.
The Interior
The red and black leather interior is suitably sporty for such a high performance car and the good news is that it is in great condition with very few signs of wear.
There’s a custom gear lever, over mats, an upgraded stereo system with Bluetooth and the windbreaker for top down motoring is present too.
All the instruments, switches and electrics work as they should and the car also features air-conditioning and heated, electrically adjustable seats.
The Exterior
Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic paint the car looks superb from all angles with only a couple of small stone chips, a chip in the paint of the boot lid and otherwise it’s in fantastic condition with the correct M-Technik wheels which are all in great shape and all wearing nearly new high performance tyres.
The Mechanics
A quick look in the engine bay reveals a very well kept and cared for car, which has recently been fully inspected and serviced by BMW. Importantly, it has also had the sometimes troublesome variable valve timing VANOS replaced, putting the next owners mind at rest and ensuring this car is ready to be driven as it should.
The Appeal
The rear wheel drive BMW Z3 M Roadster is a small car that packs one hell of a performance punch and is every bit a driver’s car. It has a very well-balanced and responsive chassis and has earned a great reputation for durability and reliability, as with most BMWs.
If you’re looking for a retro styled high performance roadster then the Z3 M must be a car worth considering, and the full service history and generally excellent condition of this car should help you decide that it’s the car to have some fun with this summer and beyond.
